| Have a very SM Christmas! - December 25, 2009, 2:42 am | | | |

| Merry Christmas everyone!
HISTORICAL FACT: Nobody is sure the exact date that Jesus was born. So it has been decided by the ancient Council of Elders, with blessings from the pope, that we celebrate Christmas on Santa Clause's birthday. You may say that there's no such thing as Santa, but to do so would also mean you don't believe in the almighty Lord and Savior, and THAT would be a sin. So if Santa didn't break into your house this year, you had better start praying or you may find yourself burning for eternity in hell!
HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
And a happy new year! | |

| Jedi Knight's IRC chat room, irc://irc.gamesurge.net/jk, has recently experienced a flux of old JK players and the odds of finding a good game to play in are pretty high. Yesterday I was in a fun game on MERC Darkworld with WAR Nuke and like 4 others. Get you're asses in there and play a little JK! If you don't have JK anymore, there is no shortage of people who can send it to you in the chat room. They've been askin for a few of you guys specificly, namely Nesseight, Phantek, Zeddicuus, and *cough* adjudicator.
Don't forget to check out my all-new Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II site: http://www.smsithlord.com

| GameRanger now supports JK - January 9, 2009, 11:58 am | | | |

|
| | |
| GameRanger, a free tool for PC and Mac that allows you to play over 500 supported online games with support for profiling, contact lists, VoiP, and ladder play, now supports Jedi Knight (both trial and retail) and Mysteries of the Sith.
A list of other supported games, as well as the tool itself can be found at:
http://www.gameranger.com/
Thanks goes to our ally Wasup from clan "Your Owners" as well as Scott Kevill, the creator of GameRanger, for informing us of this tool's existence and support for JK.
According to Scott, GameRanger has proper support for JK and is able to bypass common router issues making it easier for players to connect with one another. Features which other tools (such as GameSpy Arcade, Xfire, and IGZ) may lack.

| On behalf of the management of SM, I'd like to wish everyone and their families a very happy holidays. So Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and if you celebrate my favorite (Festivus) I've still got a few extra aluminum poles I'm running a special on.
I hope everyone stays safe this holiday season and has a very Happy New Year as well.

| There is a new Zone for Dark Forces II - January 4, 2008, 4:24 pm | | | |
|
|
|
| | |
| "International Gaming Zone" has added lobby support for Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.
The client has a familiar interface with many similarities and obvious influence from Microsoft's Gaming Zone, get the client and register at:
http://www.igzones.com
A screenshot, hosted by imageshack.us, can be found here:
http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/2364/newzoneyb5.jpg
The client also supports other DirectX enabled games, notably Age of Empires and it's sequels, some of which have multiple full lobbies.
Thanks to Bguitar and Beefcaike for pointing this software out to us, and special thanks to the few remaining JK players who petitioned IGZ for support.
Edit: It's Friday night and peak hours, if you get "503" errors, try again later.
Edit2: If you have a non-CD install of JK (eg. coppied from your PC to your laptop directly), you'll need the registry fix for lobbies from here:
http://jkhub.net/library/index.php/Addons:DirectPlay_Registry_Key_for_Jedi_Knight
While your at it, you might as well get the latest "JK Unofficial Patch" from here so you can run new, high-detail levels:
http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=292§ion=downloads
Also, you'll have to forward ports in your router/firewall
The ports for everything are:
1-65535
Make sure you check both TCP and UDP
Edit3: The link to apply to our clan, after you register, is http://www.igzones.com/clans/apply/349209.
When you register, be sure to register your own name starting with SM_ and to hide the lobby's clan tag as the SM clan tag was already taken and after trying several l33t sp34k variations, I simply went with 1997. So if I didn't choose to hide my tag, I would be [1997]SM_Nesseight, not necessarily bad, but a little pompous.
